Are you struggling to get the SUP environment setup ?
Do you have SUP, but do not have SAP ERP to try out ?

Well, if you are stuck with one of the above questions, SAP has a solution to all the developer community, who would like to test out the Sybase Unwired Platform and explore enterprise mobility with SAP ERP integration. SAP gives 30 days unlimited access to SUP platform and SAP ERP System on the Cloud. SAP has partnered with Cloudshare to offer the servers to developers.
What Software do you get ?
- Sybase Unwired Platform Server & Mobile SDK 2.1.2
- Android 2.2 Simulator
- BlackBerry 9800 and MDS Simulator
- SAP ECC 6.0
How to register ?
All you need to do is to create a free account on SAP Community Network and navigate to Sybase Unwired Platform Developer Center . In the middle, you would see a section called “Developer Freebies”. Click on the link in that section “Get 30 Days of trial access to hosted SUP”, you will be asked to login( if you do not have account, create a free account on SCN) and then agree to terms and conditions, you would see a screen like below, then just click on submit. You will get a confirmation saying the request is successful.
You need to wait two to three days before SAP creates the account and gives you access. You will get an email from [email protected] giving all the access information.
Once you click on the URL of cloudshare, you will be asked to create a free account with cloudshare. It is used to login to cloudshare. Just use the same credentials you have used for registering the free access at SCN. Once you login using the credentials, you activate your free trial of 30 days. The interface is very intuitive, you will be able to use RDP, copy files from remote PC to your computer and vice versa. SUP server will not be running by default, you will have to start the services by using the shortcut on the desktop. You can change the resolution of the RDP and have a full screen mode as needed.
You need to click the SAP logon pad on the desktop to launch SAP. The interface is very responsive and I just felt like I was on the same network ( we have decent internet speed ) The SUP system is fast and very responsive. Check out couple of screen shots below.
All in all, it is a fabulous thing that SAP has done to encourage developers to pickup SUP and help them learn…I think it is going to be a big hit and help developers. What are your thoughts ?
